This weekend we spent with Grandparents... Nate's Grandma flew in for a funeral, which is sad, but she got to meet Garrett for the first time! We enjoyed dinner with her and Nate's Mom Friday night, then we drove to Houston to help celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. It was truly a blessing to see how many lives they have touched. Congratulations to my wonderful Grandparents! I am so proud of them, and lucky to have them so involved in our lives. I hope my Uncle Chuck gets over his flu bug soon. We missed him this weekend. We were glad to see "the little girls" for a minute before we left today too, we were sad we couldn't spend more time with them, but glad they are feeling better now.
Let me just clarify the wonderful Godly example my grandparents are. They have been devoted to serving the Lord in everything they do. All but one person who came by the house for their anniversary celebration had been in church with them at some point. They have had life long friends and new friends all there to witness to their loving kindness. I am so thankful for the loving family they have raised. Love them so much!!!
In Garrett news, he decided he could walk this week, all by himself. Yes, he has taken steps here and there, but I watched my son more than once this weekend walk across an entire dining room by himself. I am so proud of my little guy. He did pretty good in the car coming home and going down. Going down he slept the entire way to Houston, then woke up off and on until we made it out to the country where my grandparents live. Coming home he took a nice 2 hour nap, then pooped in College Station, but he was a happy baby until we let his Grumpy out of the car. He fell asleep on the way home finally, and slept straight through a diaper change when we got home. He was one sleepy boy.
It was a great weekend all around!
